Our Physiotherapists are highly trained in managing and treating fractures (broken bones). These injuries include:

  • Fractured wrists (fracture radius and ulna)

  • Fractured fingers

  • Dislocated fingers

  • Fractures ankles (tibia and fibula)

  • Ligaments injuries or the thumb and fingers (UCL/RCL)

  • Ligaments injuries of the foot and ankle (ATFL/CFL/PTFL sprain)

Our Physiotherapists work alongside WiSE Specialist Emergency Doctors and Orthopaedic Specialists under the Prof Munjed Almuderis team from MQ University Hospital.

Our Physiotherapists can guide you with imaging, splinting and casting to help manage your injury. This is much more cost effective method that visiting an Orthopaedic Surgeon first.

Should our Physiotherapist believe the patient require an urgent medical opinion then we have direct access to an Orthopaedic team to help ensure you are looked after immediately.

 

 

If you would like an Orthopaedic or Doctors opinion for your fracture you can visit the Fracture Clinic at WiSE Emergency Clinic.

To ensure appropriate management of your fracture and/or musculoskeletal injury, your Emergency Doctor has indicated a referral to the WiSE Fracture Clinic is required.

You will be seen by our Physiotherapist and Orthopaedic Surgeon/ Fellow / Registrar who will examine your injury and decide what management is required.
